It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Glennis Lavon Barkley,

beloved mother and grandmother, on September 20, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born on August 16, 1939, in Hutchinson, KS, she grew up with a spirit full of kindness and resilience. She dedicated her life to her family, exemplifying hard work, integrity, and compassion.

Lavon found joy in spending time with her family and grandchildren, as well as gardening and birdwatching, especially hummingbirds. She touched countless lives through her life in the communities she lived in. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by daughters, Sue Meeker, of Camargo, OK, and Lea Sage and JC Stockton of Camargo, OK; son, Jeremy Barkley and wife Nalani of Mooreland, OK (grandchildren Miley and Malory Aldridge), and son Jarrod Barkley and wife Amy of McAlester, OK (grandchildren Luke and Shane Barkley).

She is also survived by grandchildren, Tommy Dick and wife Shelly, (great grandchildren, Jalissa, Brooke and Jr), Jonathon Sage (great grandchild Kaydence Sage), Josh Dick (great grandchildren Harlow and Hadley), Andrew Barkley and Jordan Barkley; and longtime close family friend, Nancy Scott.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurlo and Ruth Hilton; three brothers, Aubrie Hilton, Richard Hilton and Larry Hilton; two daughters, Candy Hess and Jayne Barkley; and one son, Greg Martin.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery 5905 W. 4th St, Hutchinson, KS on October 3, 2026, at 1:00PM. Arrangements and care have been entrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson, KS.
