Robert Mason YBarra, 49, passed away May 10, 2019, surrounded by family at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 9, 1969, to Christopher and Consuelo Martinez YBarra, in Hutchinson. He was employed at Stanion Electric, Hutchinson. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves. He graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in 1988. He belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, where he taught PSR for several years. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #612, Hutchinson.
On Feb. 24, 1990, he married Tracy Kay Carrier, in Hutchinson. They divorced. On Dec. 7, 2015, he married Tonya Spencer in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: four sons, Alexander “Alex” and wife Shannon, Keaau, Hawaii, Levi Spencer, Robert, Jr., and Caleb, all of Hutchinson; five daughters, Elizabeth “Lizzi” Eddy and husband Mykal, Katherine “Katie” YBarra, Samanthia “Sami” YBarra, Kimberley “Kimmy” YBarra, and Chloe YBarra, all of Hutchinson; his parents, Chris and Connie, Hutchinson; a brother, Anthony, Manhattan; two sisters, Stacie Nachtman, Wichita, and Marie Tate and husband Nathan, Udall; two nephews, Tanner Tate and Trenton Tate, both of Udall; and his granddaughter, his little Miss Universe, Mackenzie Renee Eddy.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday May 16, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday May 17, 2019, at the church, with Father Shepherd. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, Hutchinson. Cremation will take place following the service. Burial will be held at a later date. Robert loved his family and the Chiefs, please feel free to wear your red and gold. Memorials may be sent Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
